Terms of Use
Effective 8 November 2026
These terms apply to your use of the Rooteus app and this website. By using Rooteus you agree to them.
1. The app
Rooteus is a tool for connecting to and managing computers you are authorised to access. It is currently in development, and features may change.
2. Your responsibilities
- Use Rooteus only with systems you own or are permitted to administer.
- You are responsible for the commands run on your systems, including commands proposed by the AI agent that you approve or that you allow to run automatically.
- Keep your master password safe. It cannot be recovered, and without it your vault and synced data cannot be decrypted.
3. Third-party services
Optional features use services you choose: Google (for sync) and AI providers (for the agent). Your use of them is also subject to their own terms. You pay any AI provider directly for what the agent uses with your key.
4. Open-source components
Parts of Rooteus are open source under the Apache License 2.0. That license governs those components; these terms govern the app as a whole.
5. No warranty
Rooteus is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. In particular, we do not guarantee that the AI agent's suggestions are correct or safe; review every command before approving it.
6. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Rooteus and its developers are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the app.
7. Changes
We may update these terms. The current version is always on this page, with its effective date.
